56 apartments

The project incorporates 56 new apartments in the social housing sector. It consists of two building blocks of 3 floors with large masonry balcony segments. Each floor has a different character, making a strong hierarchy in the façade. The apartments situated on the ground floor have their own front door with a bench and a own backyard. The bench added next to the front door, gives a nice view of public green space and stimulates the social interaction between the residents and the neighbourhood.

The apartments on the other levels are accessed via a gallery at the back and are designed with loggias and an upper balcony. These apartments are also equipped with a bench next to the front door which again stimulates social interaction between the residents, but this time in the evening sun. At the end on both building blocks the design becomes more sculptural with two twisted houses on each end. Here the private out door spaces are setback and are part of a bright brick architecture. The building rests on a dark plinth where the storages are resolved. The entrance areas and stairwells form the connection between the different typology housing.
